Paul T. Ryan is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Yellow Pages Group. He was appointed to this position in January 2012.
Mr. Ryan brings a long history of entrepreneurial success in his more than 25-year career as a technology and product innovator. Mr. Ryan was the Founder and CEO of Done Right!, a venture-funded home improvement services directory (both online and in traditional print media), serving 38 U.S. cities and generating over 300,000 advertiser leads. Building the company from the ground up, five years later he successfully sold the business to Tree.com. Following this business venture, Mr. Ryan founded One Click Politics, a nonpartisan web site that allows registered users to easily contact members of Congress and The President of the United States. Just prior to joining Yellow Pages Group, Paul Ryan was Chief Technology Officer for Leads 360, a U.S.-based provider of sales lead management software.
Paul also held the Chief Technology Officer position at Overture Services, Inc. formerly GoTo.com, the pioneer of search engine marketing, from 1999 to 2003. Overture was purchased by Yahoo! in 2003, becoming Yahoo! Search Marketing. Mr. Ryan defined and implemented Overture’s technology architecture, worldwide operations, and development process and standards, scaling the original search architecture to over half a billion searches a day, serving over 200,000 advertisers and generating revenue in excess of $2 billion.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Ryan was also the Chief Information Officer and a founding member of the management team of Delray Farms, a rapid-growth Chicago Inner-city 15-store grocery chain. His primary responsibilities included building and leading a technology team that developed and implemented business and operation systems for the retail chain.
Mr. Ryan is a graduate of Princeton University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He also has a Master’s degree in Computer Science from The John Hopkins University, and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
