René Poirier

Chief Information Officer

René Poirier was appointed Chief Information Officer at Yellow Pages Group in January 2012. Mr. Poirier’s background in information technology management spans more than 25 years. As a senior executive, he brings innovation and a results-oriented approach to strategy, information technology management, product development, marketing and operations.

Prior to joining Yellow Pages Group, René Poirier was Senior Vice-President of Technology for Transcontinental Interactive. He was responsible for the technological vision and direction of the sector, as well as the digital product development and supporting infrastructure. Previously, Mr. Poirier held the position of Senior Vice-President and General Manager of Tecsys Inc., a software company specializing in supply chain management solutions. René Poirier also spent six years at BCE Emergis as Chief Technology Officer where he lead product architecture and development, integration services, data centre operations, information security and internal information technology services. He started his career at the Montreal Stock Exchange where he was responsible for the development and architecture of the trading system for 8 years.

Mr. Poirier’s innovation in the development of e-commerce strategies and products began earlier in his career at Bell Canada where he was an e-Commerce Strategic Consultant.

René Poirier has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Studies from Sherbrooke University in Québec.
