Darby Sieben occupies the position of Director, Business Development at Yellow Pages Group, Canada’s leading performance media and marketing solutions company. Darby is currently responsible for Yellow Pages Group’s business development. This entails the negotiation and management of strategic partnerships for the Yellow Media Inc portfolio, which includes Yellow Pages Group, Canpages, LesPAC.com and RedFlagDeals.com.
Darby joined the company in 2006 and was responsible for expanding reach, frequency and local search queries for YellowPages.ca, Canada411.ca and seven local city guides such as TorontoPlus.ca, MontrealPlus.ca and VancouverPlus.ca. His extensive experience in online marketing helped fuel the growth of Yellow Pages Group’s mobile services. Darby also lead negotiations that resulted with partnerships with new media platforms such as Twitter and Skype, in addition to several other key agreements that powered the local search of MSN.ca, Sympatico.ca, PostMedia for Canada.com, as well as leading Canadian dailies such as the Globe and Mail.
Prior to joining Yellow Pages Group, Darby formed an Interactive Agency in Calgary called KS2 Solutions. This company was formed out of the former Bell ActiMedia western operations with a mandate to sell, market and legally defend the YellowPages.ca trademark for Western Canada. KS2 was successful in expanding its SMB offering from just online directory advertising to include a full suite of SMB marketing services such as SEM, SEO and Web Site Design. KS2 was nominated in 2004 as one of 3 finalists for Emerging Entreprise of the Year. He also held various positions in the online and technology industry. Darby is the recipient of many distinctions and awards and was chosen as being part of “Top 40 Canadian Online Marketers of 2009”, from Click Weekly, an online publication targeting business executives.
