Yellow Pages Group Launches the Make It Real Program to Reward Businesses Across Canada

Campaign will include companies in 10 Canadian markets

Montreal (Quebec), March 15, 2006 – Yellow Pages Group, Canada’s largest telephone directory publisher, today announced the launch of a new program called Make it Real: Better Businesses for Better Communities in 10 cities across Canada. This program will recognize and reward small Canadian businesses dedicated to improving the communities they serve.

Businesses of less than 50 employees that demonstrate an outstanding contribution to their communities will be eligible for a cash prize that will be shared by the company and the charity of their choice. Contributions to the community can include fundraising for charity, environmentally friendly business practices, local volunteer work by employees, special employment practices and more.

“Canadian entrepreneurs are making a real difference in their communities. We are proud to be launching the Make It Real program as a way to recognize these special efforts,” said Annie Marsolais, Director of Corporate Communications for Yellow Pages Group. “As a partner to Canadian businesses, we want to encourage companies to continue to take an active role in improving their communities.”

A local panel of community leaders will choose Platinum and Gold winners in each city and prizes will be shared by each small business winner and the charity of their choice.

Each Platinum winner receives $5,000 with $1,500 going to charity. Each Gold winner receives $2,500 with $1,000 going to charity. Yellow Pages Group will publicize the names of each winning company in the community section of local Yellow Pages™ directories.

The Make It Real program will run in Kelowna, Nanaimo and Prince George, British Columbia; Medicine Hat and Red Deer, Alberta; Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo and Sudbury, Ontario; Baie-Comeau, Gatineau and Rimouski, Quebec.

The deadline for submissions is May 1, 2006 at 5 p.m. (ET) and winners will be announced June 14, 2006 at 5 p.m. (ET). More details and applications to participate in the Make it Real program are available online at www.ypg.com/makeitreal.
