Yellow Pages Group Public API Offers BlackBerry Application Developers Support for Local Search Applications

Montreal (Quebec), September 28, 2010 – As BlackBerry DEVCON 2010 continues today, Yellow Pages Group (YPG) highlights its recently launched public API (application programming interface) to BlackBerry® application developers.

Currently available in BETA, YellowAPI.com allows developers across all platforms, including BlackBerry application developers, to stream local search content from one of Canada’s largest and most comprehensive business and person database, with over 1.5 million Canadian business listings.

Simple to use, Yellow Pages Group’s API is one-stop-shop Canadian local business search content, with features such as geo-localized listings for map overlay and proximity search. With one centralized API registration, developers have access to authenticated and enhanced Canadian business information including videos, photos, ad thumbnails, and more.

YellowAPI.com welcomes feedback from the developer community and upcoming releases of the API will open new data sets to developers. These include person search, deals and coupons, ratings and reviews, and classified ads.
