Recycle your old directories
Edmonton (Alberta), April 1, 2008 – The new Yellow Pages™ directories arrive in April, and the old ones should be recycled. The City of Edmonton and Yellow Pages Group (YPG) have partnered to make it easy.
Simply recycle your old directories – the ones with the Walking Fingers logo – through any of the City’s recycling programs - blue bags, blue bins or at recycling depots.
YPG will be delivering more than 1.3 million directories in April. A similar number of directories is expected to be recycled.
In addition, YPG offers businesses and organizations that receive more than 100 directories a free-of-charge recycling service for old Yellow Pages™ directories. YPG has contacted these large users directly to arrange recycling. Eligible businesses that have not been contacted about this service are encouraged to email recycle@ypg.com to register.
Partnering with the City and local businesses reflect YPG’s ongoing commitment to reducing, reusing and recycling. “We recognize the importance of this recycling effort and its positive impact on the environment,” says Annie Marsolais, Director of Corporate Communication, Yellow Pages Group. “We need to collaborate with Edmontonians to help recycle our outdated directories and we truly appreciate the City of Edmonton’s support in making this a reality.”
“We are pleased Yellow Pages Group is supporting the City of Edmonton in its recycling initiative,” says Connie Boyce, Director of Community Relations with the City’s Waste Management Branch. “This partnership is a great example of a corporate initiative to promote recycling.”
YPG continues to work with municipal and provincial bodies, the public and community organizations to achieve its recycling goals.
